JMJ112 *Since there is so little to report on the academic front today, I decided to write a few lyrics to go with the familiar kid’s tune, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, to have at least a little shareable content with my readers. My kids, who are all too old for such songs now, thought I had gone absolutely crazy as I sang it to them.
Ring the School Bell 112/180 Days
My dad is back from Palm Springs. The kids are thrilled to spend time with him. The magic eraser has allowed them to do just that, spend carefree afternoons with grandpa.
How so? It was easy. Get the eraser. Get the lesson planner. Start erasing the academics. The consequence is that we will have to make it up later, but that is perfectly fine with all of us.
Writing the lyrics to this tuned, took me back to my preschool teacher days when we seemed to sing half the school day. Singing is such a great way to teach the little ones concepts.
Anyhow, I hope that some of you know some wee ones who might enjoy it. If you don’t, learn it and torment your older kids with it!
Remember, it is to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star:
The Homeschool Song for Wee Ones
Roly Poly science fun,
Mathematics with my mom,
Recess, playtime when my mom,
Is on the phone or park days on,
I would not trade with anyone
Homeschool is the best of fun!

** Note to the Reader- Today’s narrative is part of our family’s school journey from a few years ago, during my eldest daughter’s senior year in high school, a rather emotional year, with its many ups and downs. Every day’s blog entry coincides with a day from that special year. It can be read from the beginning by selecting the “Ring the School Bell 180” category on the side bar. Commence with the narrative, “The School Bell- What comes to mind when ‘you’ hear that bell?”

Follow along with us day-by-day through the school year. Hope you will join us!
May God shower blessings on your family as he has on mine. Annette
