Ring the School Bell 19/180- Sniffly noses take over perfectly productive morning

10% of the school year has gone by already! I feel good about the school year so far, and it’s developed a nice rhythm of its own, between academic work, field trips, social outings, and enrichment classes.  There is no question.  We have been blessed.

Productivity reigned this morning.  Melissa, a 6th grader this year, needed help with multiplying and dividing fractions.  Sarah, a 9th grader, worked on her Chronicles of Narnia Magician’s Nephew book report.  We have revisited the enchanting Narnia series multiple times, watched the movies, and listened to the audio cds by Focus on the Family as well.  Lovely piano music filled our home as Sabrina worked on her music sonatas.  Everything was lovely, until midmorning when Sabrina started sniffling, then the other two girls.  At first, I was convinced it must be bunny dander allergies, but by the end of the day, full-blown colds had completely invaded the happy house.  Thankfully,  I was spared to attend the sniffly needs of my children for the rest of the day.

** Note to the Reader- Today’s narrative is part of our family’s school journey from a few years ago, during my eldest daughter’s senior year in high school, a rather emotional year, with its many ups and downs.  Every day’s blog entry coincides with a day from that special year.  It can be read from the beginning by selecting the “Ring the School Bell 180” category on the side bar.  Commence with the narrative, “The School Bell- What comes to mind when ‘you’ hear that bell?” and follow along with us day-by-day through the school year.  Hope you will join us!

May God shower blessings on your family as he has on mine.    Annette
